Privacy Policy

Effective date: [10/1/2025] · Last updated: [9/1/2026]

This website is operated by Kelsey Weiss, LMFT (License #146182). This policy explains what information is collected when you visit kelseyweisslmft.com, how it's used, and the choices you have.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to information collected through this website, for example, when you submit the contact form or send an email.

It does not govern the confidentiality of therapy records. If you become a client, you'll receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices describing how your clinical information is handled. Therapy records are protected under California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act and the confidentiality requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Please don't send clinical details through this website

The contact form and email are not secure or encrypted channels. Please limit what you send to your name, preferred contact information, and a brief note about what you're seeking support for.

Please don't include detailed clinical information, medical history, diagnoses, or medication information — or anything you wouldn't want read by someone other than the intended recipient. If we begin working together, you'll have a secure way to share that.

Information collected

Information you provide. When you use the contact form or email, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you choose to write in the message field. Nothing on this site requires you to submit information — you're also welcome to call.

Information collected automatically. This site is built on Squarespace, which records technical information such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site working and to understand general traffic patterns. It isn't used to identify individual visitors.

Cookies. This site uses cookies necessary for it to function, and analytics cookies that measure general traffic. It does not use advertising cookies. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit.

How information is used

Information you submit is used only to respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation or appointment, and maintain records of communication as required by professional and legal standards.

Your information is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing or advertising purposes, and it is not used to build advertising profiles.

Service providers

This website relies on third-party services to operate — a website host and form processor (Squarespace) and an email service provider. These providers may process information on the practice's behalf in order to deliver their services. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How information is protected

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information collected through this site, including limiting access to the devices and accounts used for practice communication. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is why the notice above about clinical detail matters.

How long information is kept

Inquiries that don't result in services are retained only as long as needed to respond, then deleted. If you become a client, retention of your clinical record is governed by California law and professional record-keeping requirements, and is described in your intake paperwork.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is currently no industry-standard response to these signals, and this website does not respond to them.

Third-party tracking across websites

No third parties collect personally identifiable information about your online activities across different websites through this site.

Reviewing or removing your information

You may request that information you submitted be reviewed, corrected, or deleted. Email kelsey.weiss@kelseyweisslmft.com and your request will be honored where it doesn't conflict with legal or professional record-retention obligations.

Children

This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
